Minglaba! Welcome to our website “Wellness In Worrying Times”. Today, we face a situation which heavily impacts our daily lives. Covid-19 and the current political situation have drastically altered what we consider to be normal life. Now, we must adapt to the changed world we live in and try to live our daily lives as best we can even in these troublesome circumstances. Physical and Mental Wellness are extremely important for our well-being. Though our country faces many obstacles, we cannot allow ourselves to sacrifice our wellness at any cost. This is especially important for children: We must encourage regular physical activity as well as practices to keep our mental health in check. It is unfortunate that we cannot meet each other, or play sports, or engage in other activities. Nevertheless, we must continue to keep ourselves physically and mentally healthy so that we stay happy. I would like to introduce my friend Maher,  who has created a free resource that he hopes can help us keep ourselves physically and mentally healthy during these times of worry. 

 

This website has 4 sections. First, you can find follow-along workout videos for all levels of fitness (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). These workouts do not require any equipment, and can be done from the comfort of your own home. Secondly, you can find 2-month-long fitness programs that you can follow over an extended period of time to help improve your physical fitness. Thirdly, you will be able to view examples of what are considered balanced meals, so you can help your body grow and mature to its full potential. Fourth, you will find guided meditation videos which help address our mental health. Lastly, you will find a selection of external resources –like follow-along dance videos for little children, fun family routines, and health information– that are very helpful: some of them are informative, some are surprising, and some are plain fun!

 

I hope that you will find this website helpful and hope that you learn a lot over your time on it.

Today, we find ourselves right in the middle of arguably one of the biggest crises of the 21st century. We have been forced to radically change the way we live our day-to-day lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our ability to keep ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy to the point that it seems we may never go back to the way things were before. How can we continue to maintain our wellbeing during these times of worry?

TO THE YOUTH OF MYANMAR:

Hello everyone,

It would be an understatement to say that what you are experiencing right now in your home country is severe. Not only are you fighting a global pandemic, but you are also in the midst of political turmoil. I have created this resource for you all in the hopes that you can use it as a tool to keep yourselves physically and mentally strong and healthy. I hope that it helps you, even if it just is a little bit.
